Social Studies: We are starting our Westward Ho interactive unit. Each student is assigned a role as a pioneer heading west. We will be taking "family photos" on Friday, April 5th, so be sure to send in any clothing/props that would have been worn/used in the 1800s. Let me know if you have any questions :)
Math: Students are reviewing skills learned this year that they will need to know for their MAP Testing in May. Science: Students are learning about geometry concepts in science to help prepare them for the MAP Test. Reading: Students are currently working on non-fiction text features. Miss Dunn and Mrs. Hendrix also plan to cover poetry this month. Writing: Students are finishing up their opinion and narrative pieces of writing. Ask your child: would you rather be chased by a hippo or a rhino? Important Dates: Friday, April 19th- No School (Good Friday) Monday, April 22nd- SCHOOL IN SESSION (snow make-up day) Looking ahead: As of now, students will begin MAP Testing on April 30th. The dates of testing (could change) are April 30th, May 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th.
