The end of the school year is right around the corner and our next few weeks are busy, busy, BUSY. Each classroom will be working on final grades for the year. I will introduce Civil War in Social Studies, but students will not be assessed over it due to a lack of time! Below are a few of our end of the year important dates as of now! Let me know if you have any questions :)
May 7 & 8- Math MAP Testing- make sure to send your child on time and well rested for our last two days of MAP Testing! Make ups will be Thursday and Friday. May 7th- Hat Day- last of the year. Bring in deodorant, shampoo, or a quarter to donate May 15th- Field Trip to the Art Museum- don't forget to send a lunch with your child unless you selected a school sack lunch on the permission slip. I kept track if you have forgotten, so just let me know if you can't remember. It can be changed if needed as well. :) May 16th- 4th Grade Transition Day- We will be preparing our 4th graders for their transition to Intermediate-South next year. We will be busing students over to see the new intermediate school (just driving by and looking at the outside). We will then go to Willard Orchard Hills Elementary and meet with some of the fifth grade teachers and the principal they will have next year (Ms. Stacey Pippin). When we return to school we will celebrate their time at South with a pizza party! May 17th- Field Day- This should be a fun filled day as usual! Make sure to send your child in the appropriate clothing for a day of fun! If you have any questions, I will try to answer as soon as all of the plans are set. Here is the link to volunteer on this day to help with the stations: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe7F7Du3AzEKetHqRlmo7hvaH7jJbAkm7AAjc5W3DIRVwfYuw/viewform May 24th- Last Day of School/Half Day! Enjoy your summer :) Extra end of the year parent note: Thank you so very much for your support throughout this year (or the past two years for some of you :)). I have truly enjoyed working with you and your children. I wish you all the very best. Please don't hesitate to contact me with future concerns or celebrations. You have some really awesome kiddos and I know they will do great things! Thanks again for your partnership! ~Mrs. Brown
