With Fall Break, a half snow day, and Thanksgiving Break, November was so short I never made a blog post! December will be back to normal full weeks to get things done before the end of the quarter and Winter break!
Students are working on writing an essay about a Famous Missourians in Writing and a presentation about their Missourian in Social Studies. Students are continuing to work on the WIG Goal for Reading. Ask your child how they are progressing and help them practice their strategies at home! In Math, students are working on division with remainders. It's not an easy topic, but they are working really hard and will get the hang of it. Make sure to check with your child about homework. We usually try to get it all done at school, but sometimes it ends up going home because of lack of time. This week in Science, students are learning about plant structures. Ask them about their video they made last week on Simple Machines! A few important dates: December 3-7: Book Fair--open until 4:30 after school. Our class will have shopping opportunities during school on Tuesday (December 4th) and Wednesday (December 5th) December 4: Make it, Take it, Give it Night from 6:00-7:00 December 4: Hat Day (bring a personal hygiene item or canned food item for donation) December 13th: 4th Grade Musical (They are working SO hard and they are SO excited)-make sure you have seen the note about what they should wear. :) There is a performance at 2:45 and at 6:30 (students will need to arrive at 6:00) December 24- January 4- Enjoy your Winter Break!
